We have all been waiting for the “Avengers” movie to come out later this year. Marvel Comics fans have grown up reading about the adventures of the changing roster of heroes who take on everything from monsters to space aliens. We’ve already seen from some of the trailers we’ll get some of that action in the movie.
Following on the heels of popular movies like “The Incredible Hulk”, “Iron Man”, “Thor”, and “Captain America” the “Avengers” movie ties together all the characters and maybe some of the storylines that have been woven throughout these films. This franchise is unlike any other previously attempted, except in low budget animation directed only at young audiences.
The Tribeca Film Festival, sponsored by American Express, is one of the most prestigious film festivals in North America and clearly this presents a great opportunity to launch the movie that is expected to kick super hero movie franchises into high gear. If “The Avengers” succeeds fans can look forward to at least 2 movie movies featuring the Marvel team, and perhaps several more sequels to the individual superhero movies. We may see a span of superhero movies until well into 2016.
